Samsung has finally started preparing the stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy S23 series in South Korea. The latest update screen confirms that the new software is ready for installation, bringing Android 17 and the latest One UI experience to eligible Galaxy S23 devices.
According to the screenshot, the update includes One UI 9.0 based on Android 17, with firmware version S918NKSU8GZIF. The update package is approximately 483.81MB, making it considerably smaller than some major Galaxy software upgrades.
The update also includes the October 5, 2026 security patch, which brings security improvements to the device.

Samsung is advising users to back up their important data before installing the update. The company also notes that some functions may be temporarily unavailable during installation.
Galaxy S23 series users in South Korea can check for the update by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
The rollout may expand to other regions in the coming days, although Samsung has not confirmed an international release schedule in the provided screenshot. Users outside South Korea should keep checking their devices for availability.
